Who operates this website
ConsoleTroubleshooting.com operates Console Troubleshooting and is responsible for information it processes through this website and support enquiries. Contact us at support@consoletroubleshooting.com for privacy requests.
Diagnostic answers and saved cases
Your active answers, observations and optional case details stay in this tab’s session storage. They are not uploaded by our diagnostic tool. A browser may restore tab sessions after a restart. “Clear current session” on the report page removes that session.
Cases are stored in this browser’s local storage only when you choose “Save on this device”. They remain until you delete them or clear site data; the limit is 30 cases. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to read them. We cannot retrieve these local records for you. Avoid customer names, passwords and unnecessary personal details.
Why information is processed
Device storage supports the diagnostic session and the save feature you request. If you email us, we use the sender address, message and attachments to respond and resolve your enquiry. Where data-protection law applies, our basis for handling ordinary enquiries and protecting the site is our legitimate interest in operating the service and answering users, balanced against their rights. Any legal obligation that requires us to retain specific information takes precedence.
Connection and hosting information
Delivering this website involves normal technical information such as IP addresses, requested pages and browser headers. The website is hosted on Microsoft Azure App Service, whose infrastructure processes connection, security and diagnostic log information needed to deliver and protect the service. See Microsoft’s privacy statement. We do not use diagnostic notes for analytics or send them to an AI service. Google privacy messaging loads through a paused AdSense tag. No ad requests are made. This still sends Google connection information such as your IP address, browser headers and the page needed to deliver the message; existing Google-domain cookies may be read. Our diagnostic tool does not send your answers, notes or saved cases to Google. With your consent, Google Analytics receives page paths and technical visit information to measure site use. Diagnostic answers, notes, case details and URL queries are excluded from our page-view events.
Email, retention and recipients
Our email and hosting providers handle information needed to provide those services. We use support correspondence to address the enquiry and keep it only as needed for that purpose, associated records or legal requirements. Contact us about deletion of an enquiry. Downloaded files, printouts and attachments are separate copies; clearing the website does not remove them.
International processing
Hosting and email services may process connection or correspondence data outside your country. Where a transfer is subject to EU or UK data-protection rules, applicable transfer safeguards are required. You can contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics is provided by Google. It processes visit and device information only after you allow analytics. You can reject it or withdraw consent through Privacy choices in the footer. Withdrawal disables collection and removes our Google Analytics cookies; it does not erase data already processed by Google. See Google privacy information. Google may process information internationally under its applicable safeguards. Contact us for requests about data previously collected.
Advertising and consent
Ads are not served: all AdSense ad requests remain paused. Google's published European consent and US state opt-out messages are integrated through its tag. Where applicable, the message describes participating providers, purposes and available choices. Consent records can be stored to remember your decision. Use Privacy choices in the footer to revisit European consent; Google's Do Not Sell or Share link provides the regional opt-out when applicable. Declining optional consent does not block the tool. Optional analytics remains a separate opt-in. See how Google uses information from sites using its services and our storage policy. Ad activation requires a separate reviewed release after Google approval.
Your EU and UK rights
Depending on the information and legal basis, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing, including processing based on legitimate interests. Where consent is used, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email support@consoletroubleshooting.com; we may need proportionate information to verify a request.
You can complain to your local data-protection authority. In the UK, contact the Information Commissioner’s Office. EU visitors can consult the European supervisory authorities.
External websites and updates
Manufacturer and other external links have their own privacy practices. We revise this notice when our processing changes. See the cookie and storage policy for the exact browser-storage functions.
